Hymn 559
The strain upraise of joy and praise, Alle/luia!
Ẹ gbe ohùn ayọ̀ at’ iyìn ga, Alle|luya!
- The strain upraise of joy and praise, Alle/luia!
To the glory of their King Shall the ransomed!/ people sing,
Alle/luia! Alle/luia! - And the choirs that/ dwell on high
Shall re-echo /through the sky
Alle/luia! Alle/luia! - Ye through the fields of Paradise / that roam,
Ye blesséd ones, repeat through that /bright Home
Alle/luia! Alle/luia! - Ye planets glittering ontheir/ heavenly way,
Ye shining constellations,/join, and say,
Alle/luia! Alle/luia! - Ye clouds that onward sweep,
Ye winds on /pinions light,
Ye thunders, echoing/ loud and deep,
Ye lightning’s, wildly bright,
In sweet consent/ unite your Alle/luia! - Ye floods and ocean billows,
Ye storms and /winter snow,
Ye days of cloudless beauty,
Hoar frost and /summer glow;
And glorious forests,/ sing, Alle/luia! - First let the birds with painted plu/mage gay,
Exalt their great Crea/tor's praise, and say,
Alle/luia! Alle/luia! - Then let the beasts of earth, with varying strain,
Join in creation's hymn, and cry/ again,
Alleluia! Alleluia! - Here let the mountains thunder forth /sonorous
Alle/luia!
There let the valleys sing in gent/ler chorus,
Alle/luia! - Thou jubilant abyss of o/cean, cry
Alleluia!
Ye tracts of earth and conti/nents, reply,
Alle/luia! - To God, Who all crea/tion made,
The frequent hymn be /duly paid:
Alle/luia! Alle/luia! - This is the strain, the eternal strain,
The Lord /of all things loves:
Alle/luia!
This is the song, the he/avenly song,
that Christ Himself approves:
Alle/luia! - Wherefore we sing, both heart and voice/ awakening,
Alle/luia!
And children's voices echo, answer /making,
Alle/luia! - Now from all men be/ out-poured,
Alleluia to the Lord; with Alle/luia evermore,
The Son and Spirit we /adore. - Praise be done to the/ Three in One,
Alle/luia!
Alle/luia! Alle/luia! Amen.
